Armenian Parliament Elects New Central Electoral Commission Chairman

The Armenian National Assembly today, by a vote of 65-0, elected Vahagn Hovakimyan to replace outgoing Central Electoral Commission Chairman Tigran Mukuchyan.

Hovakimyan is a Civil Contract faction MP.

The parliamentary opposition boycotted today’s vote.

The National Assembly also elected CEC members Anna Grigoryan, Zhirayr Karapetyan, Arusyak Terchanyan, Nune Hovhannisyan, Silva Markosyan and Armen Smbatyan.
