EU Grants Armenia €33 Million for Police Reforms, Socio-Economic Recovery

The European Union will grant €10 million to Armenia to reform the country’s police and to establish a ministry of internal affairs.

Some of the money will also go to implement migration management and human rights programs.

The European Union will also grant €23 million to Armenia to support green, inclusive, and resilient socio-economic recovery and development in the post-pandemic and post-war period.

The grant is part of the "EU Resilience Instrument for Armenia" program.

Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan said the funds will go to 1,500 micro, small and medium enterprises and individual entrepreneurs in the country’s southern Syunik province as receive capacity building support. At least 200 micro, small and medium-sized enterprises will be given grants to promote exports to the EU market.
