Artsakh President Calls for Unity to Overcome Serious Challenges

Artsakh President Arayik Harutyunyan, during his remarks today at the opening of the Global Armenian Summit in Yerevan, said the challenges facing the Armenian people today will only be overcome if they unite their resources and defend Armenian national and state interests.

Harutyunyan said the 2020 Artsakh war dealt a heavy blow to the Armenian people, resulting in irreversible territorial and human losses.

“Today, with the support of all Armenians, Artsakh is trying with great difficulty to stand up and heal its wounds. I is trying to live and create, as it has for centuries, taking ownership of its land, its history and its future,” Harutyunyan remarked.

He stressed the importance of strengthening relations between the homeland and the diaspora, arguing “the greatest wealth of the Armenian people is its children scattered all over the world, whose union can become the only link of salvation, which is needed by both Armenia, Artsakh, and the diaspora today.”

Harutyunyan said the Armenians of Artsakh expect the unconditional support of their compatriots worldwide in preserving and developing an important part of the Motherland.
