Pashinyan Says CSTO Meeting Was Positive, Despite Shortcomings

Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan, at today’s government cabinet session, said yesterday’s CSTO Collective Security Council session in Yerevan was “positive” even though it failed to reach a joint statement regarding Azerbaijani aggression against Armenia.

Unfortunately, at the CSTO summit yesterday, we did not manage to come to a joint statement regarding two very important documents. I want to say that I think there was a very open, honest and positive discussion. Those two documents have been sent for revision," Pashinyan said at today’s cabinet session.

At yesterday’s CSTO Session, member state leaders drafted a statement to aid Armenia, but Pashinyan refused to sign it, noting it was insufficient.

Pashinyan even rebuked the Russian-backed military alliance for not doing enough to stop Azerbaijani aggression against Armenia.

Pashinyan today said the statement in question will be revised.
