19,630 Foreigners Apply for Armenian Citizenship; Most from Russia
Armenia’s Police Department reports that 19,630 foreign citizens applied for Armenian citizenship in the first ten months of this year and that 14,661 of applicants are from Russia.
Ninety-seven percent of all applicants are of Armenian extraction, according to police data.
1,715 Georgian citizens applied for Armenian citizenship, followed by Lebanon (1,045), Syria (528), Iran (456), U.S. (220) and Ukraine (225).
8,591 foreigners applied for Armenian citizenship last year.
