The foreign minister of Armenia and Russia (Ararat Mirzoyan, Sergey Lavrov, spoke by telephone today and discussed regional security issues.

Mirzoyan, according to his office, stressed the need for the immediate unblocking of the Lachin Corridor by Azerbaijan.

The imperative of implementing and unconditionally observing the provisions of the Trilateral Statement was emphasized. The two exchanged views on the normalization process of Armenia-Azerbaijan relations.

Various issues of the Armenia-Russia bilateral agenda were also discussed.
