Pashinyan to Attend Munich Security Conference

Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan leaves for Munich today to on February 16 attend the Munich Security Conference (MSC).

The MSC touts itself as the world's leading forum for debating international security policy. “It is a venue for diplomatic initiatives to address the world's most pressing security concerns,” reads the MSC website.

Pashinyan, according to his office, will have a series of bilateral meetings with foreign partners.

Anna Hakobyan, Pashinyan’s wife, will also travel to Germany and will meet with Silvana Koch-Mehrin, the founder and president of Women Political Leaders (WPL), a worldwide network of female politicians. Its mission is to increase the number and influence of women in political leadership.

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev is also scheduled to attend the conference. As yet, the Armenian government hasn't confirmed whether the two will meet on the sidelines of the conference.
