Aliyev, U.S. Senior Caucasus Advisor Discuss Baku-Yerevan Peace Talks
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev today, in Baku, met with Louis Bono, the U.S. Department of State senior advisor for negotiations in the Caucasus, and discussed ongoing talks to normalize relations between Baku and Yerevan and reach a peace treaty.
Aliyev, according to a statement released by his office, welcomed the results of the February 18 meeting of Azerbaijani and Armenian leaders on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference and thanked U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken for his continued efforts in this direction.
Bono, according to the statement, conveyed the U.S. Secretary of State’s greetings to President Aliyev and emphasized that Blinken also believed the Munich meeting was fruitful.
