Aliyev Says 400 Azerbaijani Refugees Have Returned to Karabakh
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev today announced that his government has facilitated the return of four hundred refugees to Karabakh since the end of the 2020 war.
TASS, referring to the Azerbaijani State News Agency (AZERTAC), says Aliyev made the claim at a meeting with the heads of German companies in Berlin.
“We have already launched a government program called the Great Return. We have developed a program and have already implemented the first pilot project, resettling more than 400 former refugees in just a year and a half after the end of the war. And we plan to resettle hundreds of thousands more former refugees,” Aliyev said according to AZERTAC.
TASS, again quoting AZERTAC, writes Aliyev said his government plans to heavily invest in "the restoration of the liberated territories in Karabakh and Eastern Zangezur."
Aliev arrived in Germany yesterday and is scheduled to meet with German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and Chancellor Olaf Scholz.
