French Foreign Minister to Visit Armenia

French Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna will visit South Caucasus countries on April 26-28. This was reported by the press service of the French MFA.

Colonna will be in Armenia on April 27-28 after visiting Baku. She will then travel to Georgia.

The French Embassy in Armenia told Hetq that Colonna will have meetings with Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan, after which a press conference will be held.

Colonna will also visit the headquarters of the European Union's observation mission stationed in Jermuk, and will pay tribute to the victims of the Armenian Genocide at Yerevan’s Tzitzernakaberd Memorial Complex.

Colonna will reaffirm France's commitment to support negotiations between Armenia and Azerbaijan to achieve a just, sustainable peace, territorial integrity and respect for the principles of international law.

“She will also issue a call to guarantee the rights of the Armenian population of Nagorno-Karabakh and to immediately restore movement along the Lachin Corridor," the embassy said.

During the visit, the diplomat will discuss the situation along the Lachin Corridor.
