Pashinyan, Aliyev to Meet in Brussels on May 14

Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev will meet in Brussels on May 14, with the mediation of European Council President Charles Michel, to hold the next round of normalization talks, this according to The Financial Times.

One of the newspaper's sources noted that this meeting in Brussels "will be an important sign of progress", adding that the efforts of the European Union and the United States are complementary processes.

The newspaper reports the three leaders will have another meeting in Moldova on June 1, with the participation of German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and French President Emmanuel Macron. It will take place within the II Summit of the European Political Community.

The newspaper notes that the spokespersons of Charles Michel and Ilham Aliyev refused to comment on the news about the possible meeting, and the Armenian government’s press service had nothing to say on the matter.
