
Armenian Court Sentences Azerbaijani Soldier to 11.5 Years
An Armenian court today sentenced one of the two Azerbaijani soldiers caught on the outskirts of the Armenian Syunik town of Sisian last month to eleven years and six months.
The investigation of the case of the second, who is also accused of killing an employee of the Kajaran Copper-Molybdenum Plant, continues.
The two Azerbaijani soldiers were to have been in civilian dress.
Onn April 12, PM Nikol Pashinyan announced that the soldiers, fled the Azerbaijani army due to pressure and humiliation from fellow soldiers.
Agshin Gabili Babirov, a Baku native, was found guilty of illegally entering Armenia, gun smuggling, theft, and issuing a death threat.
