One Armenian soldier was killed and one wounded during a clash along the border with Azerbaijan on Friday according to the Armenian Ministry of Defense.

The ministry reports that its forces came under Azerbaijani mortar and small arms fire near the Gegharkunik village of Sotk. The ministry says drones were also deployed.

Yesterday’s clash follows a skirmish on Thursday that wounded four Armenian soldiers.

The clashes come before of Sunday's planned meeting in Brussels between Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Azeribaijani President Ilham Aliyev.

Pashinyan has accused Baku of attempting to disrupt peace talks between the two countries.
