Yerevan Calls on U.S. to Condemn Aliyev's "Warmongering"

Armenia has called on the U.S. to condemn statements made by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on May 28 that Yerevan regards as “warmongering” and “genocidal threats” directed against Artsakh Armenians.

Aliyev on May 28 in the town of Lachin (Berdzor) called for the dissolution of Karabakh’s “separatist” local government and demanded that the demarcation of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border should be carried out on Baku's terms.

Armenia’s Foreign Ministry, on May 29, accused Baku of threatening to resort to force, making “genocidal threats” and "preparing the ground for more aggressive action against the population of Nagorno-Karabakh".

The ministry, in a statement today, says Armenia’s recognition of the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan cannot be interpreted as authority to carry out ethnic cleansing and arbitrariness against the people of Nagorno-Karabakh.

“We believe that the United States, based on its own values of democracy and human rights protection and its commitment and involvement in the establishment of lasting peace in the region, should adequately respond to these statements in order to prevent the expansionist policy of the Azerbaijani leadership towards the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia and attempts of ethnic cleansing in Nagorno Karabakh,” the statement reads.

When will Armenia learn? America is a friend of the Azeris, and Armenia has no value in Biden administration.
