Opposition Speeches Seem to be Annoying Republican Party MPs

At today’s parliament session, HAK MP Aram Manoukyan took the floor and said it had taken     Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan one minute during his presentation yesterday of the government’s five year strategy for him to blurt out three inaccuracies.

Manoukyan minced no words when presenting a number of demographic statistics on emigration and legislative initiatives that called into question certain pronouncements made by PM Sargsyan.

His speech seemed to touch a raw nerve with MPs from the ruling majority and they tried to interrupt Manoukyan with catcalls and other outbursts.

National Assembly President Hovik Abrahamyan called for order.

Abrahamyan and Manoukyan then got into a shouting match when the latter asked for a few minutes more time given that he had been interrupted.

“You don’t make the rules here, I do,” replied Abrahamyan.
