Artsakh President Welcomes Media Coverage of Humanitarian Crisis

Artsakh President Arayik Harutyunyan has welcomed recent international media coverage of the worsening humanitarian crisis in the country.

He cites a Financial Times article, People feel let down by Russia’: disputed Caucasus enclave choked by blockade, and media coverage of former International Criminal Court prosecutor Luis Moreno Ocampo’s report accusing Azerbaijan   of committing “genocide” against the Armenians of Artsakh.

Harutyunyan, in a Facebook post today, notes that the Financial Times article presented his appeal to the government of Armenia to refrain from statements recognizing Artsakh as a part of Azerbaijan.

“We, our colleagues and friends continue our efforts to increase the level of awareness of the international community regarding the situation and pressure Azerbaijan in order to stop the further course of the genocide," he wrote.

GZERO Media’s Ian Bremer posted a YouTube video today calling for greater international pressure on Azerbaijan to allow humanitarian aid to Karabakh.
