UK Defense Ministry Says Moscow Recruiting in Armenia for Ukraine War

The UK Ministry of Defense reports that Russia is actively recruiting overseas mercenaries to fight in Ukraine.

The ministry’s Defense Intelligence service writes that online recruitment adverts, promising thousands of dollars in wages, have been seen in Armenia and Kazakhstan.

The ministry says Moscow wants to recruit foreign nationals to avoid further unpopular domestic mobilization measures in the run up to the 2014 presidential election.
