Yerevan: Protesters, Police Clash at Karabakh Demonstration

Police fired stun grenades today in Yerevan to quell what the government called mass public disorder after hundreds of civilians gathered outside the Government Building to protest Azerbaijan’s attack against Karabakh.

Hetq Media Factory journalist Anush Mkrtchyan, who was covering the demonstration, was among several injured by the grenades. She received a shrapnel wound and received medical treatment after calling an ambulance.

Armenia’s Investigative Committee reports that police were also injured, claiming that protesters hurled bottle and stones at them.

Update: Armenia's Health Ministry reports that eighteen civilians and sixteen police were injured.
