Nineteen Thousand Displaced Karabakh Residents Have Reached Armenia

Nineteen thousand forcibly displaced Karabakh Armenians have reached Armenia according to Armenian Deputy PM Tigran Khachatryan.

Fifteen hundred have been relocated to hotels and guesthouses in the country’s Syunik and Gegharkunik Provinces. Others needing housing arriving in Armenia are being relocated to Tavush Province. The remainder either have relatives or available housing in Armenia and have gone there.

Khachatryan says 5,500 who have reached Armenia are aged eighteen or under.

The official says those wounded in yesterday’s deadly Karabakh gasoline depot blast are being sent to hospitals in Armenia by ambulance and helicopter.

Update: As of 8pm local time the number of displaced Karabakh Armenians entering Armenia is 28,120.
