
Armenia Petitions European Court for Information on Ruben Vardanyan
Armenia has petitioned the European Court of Human Rights following today’s arrest of former Artsakh State Minister Ruben Vardanyan by Azerbaijan border guards.
ArmenPress reports that Hasmik Samvelyan, Spokesperson of the Office of the Representative of Armenia on International Legal Matters, that Armenia has requested information on the status, detention conditions and health of Vardanyan.
Azerbaijani border guards detained Vardanyan along the Lachin Corridor as he attempted to reach Armenia from Karabakh.
The Azerbaijani press later reported that Vardanyan had been transferred to Baku for possible prosecution.
