Azerbaijan Security Forces Arrest Former Artsakh Defense Minister

TASS reports that Azerbaijani security forces today detained former Artsakh Defense Minister Levon Mnatsakanyan as he attempted to reach Armenia from Karabakh via the Lachin Corridor.

Mnatsakanyan, a Stepanakert native, served as defense minister from June 2015 to December 2018. He also served as Artsakh’s police chief.

He fought in the first and second Karabakh wars.
