Baku Claims Former Artsakh Defense Minister Tortured Azerbaijani Prisoners
Azerbaijan has accused former Artsakh Defense Minister Levon Mnatsakanyan, now being held in Baku following his arrest on September 29 as he attempted to reach Armenia from Karabakh via the Lachin Corridor of torture.
Azerbaijan’s Prosecutor General’s office alleges Mnatsakanyan was part of a group that tortured Azerbaijani prisoners in one of the villages of Fizulu region in 2002.
A Baku court ordered that Mnatsakanyan be detained in an Azerbaijani State Security Service isolation cell.
