Iran Ready to Send Observers to Armenia-Azerbaijan Border
Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Major General Mohammad Baqeri says Iran is ready to dispatch observers to the Armenia-Azerbaijan border, stressing that ongoing tension in the region is not beneficial for Armenia, Azerbaijan, or other regional countries.
The Islamic Republic News Agency writes Baqeri made the announcement following his meeting today in Tehran with Armenian Security Council Secretary Armen Grigoryan.
Grigoryan earlier met with Iran President Ebrahim Raisi and his Iranian counterpart Ali Akbar Ahmadian.
Iranian Foreign Affairs Ministry spokesperson Nasser Kanaani, on October 2, said Tehran would be sending aid to Armenia for displaced Karabakh resident. Iran has since sent sixty tons of aid to Armenia.
