Charles Michel Sidesteps Question on Possible E.U Sanctions on Baku
European Council President Charles Michel sidestepped a reporter’s question whether the E.U. will impose sanctions on Azerbaijan for ethnic cleansing in Nagorno Karabakh.
"Two days ago, I had a telephone conversation with Aliyev, and he stated that he has no territorial claims against Armenia," Michel responded during a briefing held following the European Political Community Summit in Granada, Spain.
Michel said he will invite Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to Brussels by the end of this month to iron out a peace treaty that recognized the sovereignty and territorial integrity of both countries.
