Lavrov, Bayramov Discuss Armenia-Azerbaijani Normalization Process
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and his Azerbaijani counterpart Jeyhun Bayramov discussed, by telephone yesterday, issues of bilateral relations as a follow-up to the contacts between the leaders of Russia and Azerbaijan on the sidelines of the Council of Heads of State of the CIS on October 12 in Bishkek.
The two, according to Lavrov’s office, praised the results of the meeting of the 3+3 Consultative Regional Platform at the level of foreign ministers, held in Tehran on October 23. They agreed to continue working smoothly to promote this format.
The parties reaffirmed the need to step up efforts to normalize relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia on the basis of a set of trilateral agreements reached at the highest level in 2020-2022.
