
Armenia Raises Issue of Preserving Armenian Cultural Identity in Karabakh
Armenian officials raised the issue of protecting Armenian historical and cultural monuments in Nagorno Karabakh at the thirty-third session of the General Assembly of the International Center for the Study of the Preservation and Restoration of Cultural Property (ICCROM) that was held in Rome on November 2-3.
Representing Armenia as the session were Harutyun Vanyan, Head of the Department of History and Cultural Monuments Protection of the Ministry of Culture and Sports, and diplomats from the Armenian Embassy in Italy.
Vanyan, according to his office, explained the problems of preserving the historical and cultural monuments of Nagorno Karabakh and the ongoing state policy of Azerbaijan to eliminate Armenian historical traces from Nagorno Karabakh or falsify their identity.
