Washington Believes Armenia-Azerbaijan Peace Possible
U.S. Department of State Principal Deputy Spokesperson Vedant Patel, during a January 11, 2024 press briefing, said Washington believes that a strong peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan is possible and that the U.S. will continue to work to achieve such an aim.
"We support the peace agreement, the achievement of a stable and dignified peace between the parties. We are encouraged by the fact that the two countries have a healthy peace agenda," Patel said.
He added that a peace deal will create opportunities for economic development in the region.
