Armenian President, Iraqi Prime Minister Meet in Baghdad
Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan and Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia' Al Sudani met today in Baghdad and discussed regional developments and prospects for business and trade cooperation.
The two noted that the official visit of Iraqi President Abdul Latif Rashid to Armenia last November, the first visit of an Iraqi president to Armenia since the two countries established diplomatic relations in 1992, opened the door for expanded relations between Yerevan and Baghdad.
Both sides emphasized that the close historical and cultural relations between the two peoples contribute to the ongoing development of friendship and partnership.
Khachaturyan arrived in Baghdad on February 26 on an official visit.
