
MP Davit Haroutyunyan: 8 Million AMD Worth of Old Coins and Paintings
Davit Haroutyunyan, who heads the Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs of the RA National Assembly, enjoys a popular image of a low-key MP who lives solely on his salary and has no businesses on the side.
Press reports, however, have linked Haroutyunyan to a number of businesses but he reports nothing but his salary in his income and asset disclosures.
In 2011, Haroutyunyan only reported his 3,652,680 AMD salary as income, while his cash deposits at the end of the year totalled 5 million.
He started the year with 3.5 million.
In 2010, his income was 3.5 million and 3.4 million in 2009.
Haroutyunyan’s wife Narine Manoukyan declared her 72,000 AMD salary as her only income source in 2011 and declared $50,000 in the bank.
Davit Haroutyunyan is known to be an antiques aficionado and owns 198 gold and silver Russian coins and owns a collection of paintings. These items, according to his asset disclosure, are worth some 8 million AMD.
