Russia is prematurely pulling its peacekeepers from Nagorno Karabakh according to Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.

Russian deployed peacekeepers to the region for a five-year stint following the 2020 Artsakh war according to the tripartite statement the ended the fighting.

Earlier, Azerbaijani presidential assistant Hikmet Hajiyev reported the news to Azerbaijani state news agency Azertac.

“The process has already started. The Defense Ministries of Azerbaijan and Russia are taking appropriate measures to implement that decision," Hajiyev said.
