Opponents to Armenia-Iran Relations, Says Ali Khamenei
Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, during a meeting with visiting Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan today, said there are those opposed to the deepening of relations between the two countries.
Khamenei, according to the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA,), did not specify who those opponents are.
"It is important to understand that the development of relations between Iran and Armenia has opponents. That's why some issues in this area should be solved carefully," Khamenei said.
Khamenei emphasized that the expansion of relations with Armenia will continue even during the presidency of Iran's Acting President Mohammad Mokhber.
Pashinyan, according to IRNA, said Armenia was shocked to hear the news about the death of the Iranian president and foreign minister.
"We are sure that under your leadership, no problems will arise in the affairs of Iran," Pashinyan emphasized.
