Moscow Protests Armenian Diplomat's Visit to Ukrainian Town of Bucha
The Kremlin has sent a protest note to Yerevan regarding the June 2 visit of Armenian Ambassador to Ukraine Vladimir Karapetyan to the Ukrainian town of Bucha.
The Ukrainian government claims Russian military forces massacred hundreds of Bucha residents in a battle for the town in March 2022.
Moscow claims that Ukraine faked footage of the event or staged the killings itself as a false flag operation and alleges that footage and photographs of dead bodies were a "staged performance”.
Tigran Ter-Margaryan, who heads Yerevan’s Nor Nork administrative district, accompanied Karapetyan to Bucha in Ukraine’s Kyiv Oblast.
"We have sent a note of protest to the Armenian Foreign Ministry in connection with the transfer of aid for the needs of the armed forces of Ukraine and the impermissible remarks made there against Russia," TASS quotes Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova as saying.
