Yerevan: Border Deal Protesters, Police Clash
On June 12, at 3pm local time, a rally organized by the Tavush for the Motherland movement near the National Assembly later turned into clashes with the police.
During the rally, movement leader Bagrat Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan declared that they would not let Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan from leaving the building where government officials were fielding questions from legislators.
When opposition MPs Artur Sargsyan and Garnik Danielyan tried to enter the parliament building, a stampede began between the police and rally participants who blocked the road leading to the National Assembly.
Police fired stun grenades, injuring many rally-goers.
According to the Ministry of Health, 98 civilians and police officers sought medical help.
