Harvesting Apricots in Armenia

The apricot harvest is in full swing in Yervandashat, a village in Armenia’s Armavir Province close to the Turkish border.

Victoria and her husband Shirak have been growing apricots here for twenty-six years.

As a student, she was posted to the village to teach German. It’s where she met Shirak and got married.

Most of the apricots Victoria and her work crew harvest are exported.  Traders come to the village and agree on prices with local growers.
