Yerevan Municipality officials gave a convoluted answer as to why workers painted pavement markings over potholes along some streets in the Nor Nork district, only to have some of those markings disappear days later when work crews paved over the potholes.

Municipal officials claim contracts for pothole and road repairs hadn’t been signed before work to paint the markings had already begun and that schedules had to be met.

Officials say it was a matter of poor planning.
