Azerbaijan Announces “Serious Progress” in Yerevan-Baku Peace Talks
Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, in an October 31 telephone conversation with U.K. Minister of State for Europe, North America and Overseas Territories Stephen Doughty, said “serious progress” has been made in Yerevan-Baku peace talks.
Bayramov, according to his office, noted the main obstacle remains what Baku considers problematic sections in Armenia’s constitution.
Azerbaijan has long claimed that a preamble to Armenia’s Constitution indirectly refers to a 1989 declaration on Artsakh’s reunification with the Republic of Armenia and calls for the international recognition of the 1915 Armenian Genocide.
