Covid-19 Fallout: Pashinyan to Chair EAEU Summit in Russia by Video Link

Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan will not travel to St. Petersburg to attend today’s informal summit of CIS heads of state today after testing positive for Covid-19 on December 23.

Pashinyan, in a Facebook post, writes that he stayed at home for two days and no longer has the virus.

Pashinyan will chair the December 26  session of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council session in St. Petersburg via a video conference call.

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, who arrived in Russia for today’s CIS summit, returned to Baku following the Wednesday crash of an Azerbaijani passenger jet in Kazakhstan.

The plane, carrying sixty-two passengers and a crew of five, was enroute from Baku to Grozny in Chechnya.
