Armenia to Launch Medical Program for Heart Failure Patients
Yerevan Deputy Mayor Sargis Madatyan and two local hospital directors and representatives of the U.S.-based healthcare Abbott company met today in the Armenian capital and announced plans to launch a medical program (Artificial Heart) for patients suffering from heart failure.
During the meeting, issues related to process mapping, preoperative and postoperative steps, and possible directions for experience exchange with other countries were discussed.
The program aims to save the lives of some ninety patients. Given the lack of heart transplant opportunities in Armenia, the Artificial Heart program is the only one in terms of saving lives.
