Armenian Government Approves "Climate Policy" Bill
The Armenian government today approved the draft of a bill that defines the legal and institutional framework of the country’s climate policy.
If passed by parliament, the bill would specify the powers and responsibilities of regional and local governments to enforce the nation’s climate policy.
Armenia’s Ministry of Environment, which drafted the bill, says the country will have clear goals and mechanisms for greenhouse gas emission reduction and the potential to attract international partner financing in this regard.
