Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan, today in Yerevan, bid farewell to Iranian Ambassador to Armenia Mehdi Sobhani who is completing his diplomatic mission in Armenia.

Mirzoyan, according to his office, emphasized that although Ambassador Sobhani served in a rather difficult period the two countries managed not only to overcome difficulties, but also to register tangible results in bilateral relations.

Both stressed that Armenia-Iran cooperation is based on friendship between the two peoples, unconditional respect for principles important for regional peace, and mutual understanding on key issues.

For his significant contribution to the expanding of cooperation between Armenia and Iran Mirzoyan presented Ambassador Sobhani with the Order of Friendship, awarded to him by the decree of the President of the Republic of Armenia, wishing him success in his future activities.
