
Pashinyan, Pope Leo XIV Meet at Vatican, Discuss Yerevan-Baku Peace Deal
Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan and Pope Leo XIV met at the Vatican today and discussed the establishment of peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan as well as various regional issues.
Pashinyan travelled to the Vatican to attend Sunday’s canonization of Archbishop Ignatius Maloyan.
Pashinyan, according to his office, said he is confident that the tradition of close dialogue between the Holy See and Armenia will continue under the leadership of Pope Leo XIV.
Pope Leo XIV emphasized the close relations established between the Holy See and Armenia, noting the role of the Mekhitarist Congregation of Venice in deepening these ties.
