FlyOne Armenia Sends Plane to Oman to Evacuate Citizens Caught in Mid-East War
FlyOne Armenia today dispatched one of its Airbus A320 planes to Muscat, the capital of Oman, to evacuate citizens of Armenia from the dangers posed by the ongoing U..S-Iran-Israel war in the Middle East.
Armenia’s Foreign Ministry announced yesterday that due to the cancellation of flights from the UAE to Armenia, citizens can return to Armenia via Oman, that is, by leaving the UAE by land to neighboring Oman, and then arriving in Armenia by air.
“The Armenian government is working, if possible, to provide transportation to Armenia by air. Those citizens who wish to voluntarily leave for Armenia via the territory of Oman can fill out the submitted application. Armenia’s embassy in the UAE, if possible, will also assist in the issue of transportation from the UAE to Muscat for the flight. In the event of a flight, priority will be given to women, children, and the elderly," the ministry announced, attaching a link to fill out an application.
FlyOne Armenia's Yerevan-Muscat special flight (number 3F 7777) lasted six hours. In the conditions of closed air borders of Iran, Iraq and other Persian Gulf countries, the plane was forced to bypass the region, passing through Armenia-Turkey-Cyprus-Egypt-Saudi Arabia-Oman. According to the flightradar24.com website, which tracks flights online, the plane, which departed from Yerevan at 13:51, arrived in Muscat at 19:42 Yerevan time.
According to flightradar24.com, the plane is still in Muscat.
