Caucasus Nature Fund Allocates €285,000 to Armenia
Four Armenian Ministry of Environment State Non-Commercial Organizations (SNCO) have received the first transfers of funds from the Caucasus Nature Fund (CNF) for the 2026 financial year, amounting to €285,000.
€90,000 went to the Zangezur Biosphere Complex, €75,000 to the Khosrov Forest State Reserve, €70,000 to the Dilijan National Park, and €50,000 to the Arpi Lake National Park.
Established in 2013, the Zangezur Biosphere Complex combined Arevik National Park, Shikahogh State Reserve and several nature sanctuaries under one protected area unit, making it one of the region’s largest protected areas. The park’s 79,420 hectares includes priority conservation areas that house important habitat for the Caucasus leopard, Bezoar goat, Armenian mouflon and many other threatened species.
Founded in 2007, the Caucasus Nature Fund (CNF), is a German non-profit organization that supports the protected areas in the South Caucasus countries of Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia.
