Armenia, EU Discuss Broader Defense and Space Cooperation
At the Eurosatory 2026 international defense technology exhibition in Paris, a delegation led by the Armenian Minister of High-Tech Industry Mkhitar Hayrapetyan today met with European Commissioner for Defence and Space Andrius Kubilius․
Prospects for expanding Armenia-EU cooperation in the fields of defense industry, innovation, space security, and Earth observation were discussed.
The parties also discussed the prospects for cooperation with the Directorate-General for Defense Industry and Space (DG DEFIS) of the European Commission, as well as the opportunities for implementing joint initiatives in the high-tech and defense sectors.
Hayrapetyan, according to his office, presented the strategic priorities of the Armenian government, which are aimed at the modernization of defense technologies, the development of space capabilities and the establishment of an innovative technological ecosystem.
The parties emphasized the importance of deepening cooperation in technological areas of strategic importance, expressing their willingness to continue active dialogue and cooperation in all areas of mutual interest.
