Volunteers Bag and Sort 600 Cubic Meters of Trash
Some 2,600 volunteers in Armenia, backed by the financial support of 50 organizations, collected and sorted over 600 cubic meters of trash in an effort to raise public awareness of the litter problem in Armenia.
Arsen Gasparyan, president of Armenia’s Young Environmentalists Association, spoke to reporters about the project.
The action was part of the Let’s Do It! World international movement that has organized a global garbage collection project lasting from March 24 to September 25.
The Armenian volunteers collected trash from school yards, cultural sites and from all over Armenia.
The Let’s Do It! Movement is also spearheading the installation of recycling bins at Armenian schools.
