Building Collapse Update: 9 Injured Workers Hospitalized

Armenia’s Ministry of Emergency Affairs reports that 9 injured workers have been rescued from a construction site that collapsed earlier this afternoon near Yerevan’s Vardan Mamikonian statute

The workers, one of whom is listed in serious condition, have been taken to the St. Gregory the Illuminator Hospital.

Anyone can build anything in Yerevan if they pay the right bribe to the right municipal official...Even in the city's shrinking parks. They call it the Ring Park, but it's more a collection of tacky cafes and amusements. Developers are gobbling up green space like there's no tomorrow and the Yerevan Municipality turns a blind eye to the madness.
