Masis Police Arrest Bribe Taking Social Services Employee

Armenian police say they arrested a social services employee in the town of Masis after he pocketed a 35,000 AMD ($87) bribe from a beneficiary.

The unnamed citizen, who is receiving a monthly 35,000 AMD welfare allowance as part of the Paros program,  told police that Arman Baghdasaryan had demanded one month’s payment for the allowances to continue.

The police set up a surveillance unit at the social services office located on the third floor of the Masis Municiplaity and nabbed Baghdasaryan after pocketing the bribe.
