Judge Nazaryan Still Receiving Interest from Loan to Georgian Company
Taron Nazaryan, a judge with Armenia’s Administrative Court of Appeals, continues to receive interest from a $78,500 loan he gave to the Georgian “Unimet” company several years ago.
In 2008, Nazaryan received $9,294 in interest, and in 2011 he received $37,655 in loan interest.
In a 2010 interview with Hetq, Nazaryan confessed that he was receiving interest from the loan but argued that it did not constitute “commercial activity”.
Nazaryan ended 2011 with 36 million AMD and $50,000 in the bank. The latter amount was a loan repayment.
