Ex-Head of “Sevan” Real Estate Cadastre Branch Accused of Abusing Official Power
Within the scope of the criminal case launched regarding the cases recorded during the provision of the allotments of SNCO “Sevan National Park” for lease and construction, the preliminary investigation on the part of the ex-head of “Sevan” subdivision of the State Committee of Real Estate Cadastre was completed.
The preliminary investigation revealed that the ex-head of “Sevan” subdivision of the State Committee of Real Estate Cadastre E. Araqelyan, from 2005 to 2009, used his official position against the interests of the service and committed official forgery.
In particular, he had illegally registered rights on construction of the allotments of SNCO “Sevan National Park” in the name of a number of physical and legal persons, had given them state register certificates of right by putting obviously false information in the official documents - certificates and joint register-books of registering the real estate right, making and providing false documents, as well as by providing certificates of registering real estate without registering them in joint register-books of registering the real estate right, not involving the data of the provided certificates in the appropriate register-books and in other illegal ways.
As a result, the state suffered severe losses.
Based on the evidence obtained, E. Arakelyan was charged according to Part 2 of the Article 308 and Article 314 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia.
The criminal case with the bill of indictment was sent to the Court of First Instance of Gegharkunik.
