As of June 17, 466 inmates at Armenian penitentiaries have been released under the terms of the recent general amnesty.

Another 70 have had their sentences cut. Armenia's Ministry of Justice states that the amnesty, declared to mark the 20th anniversary of the nation's independence, will result in further releases.
